ISC (Class 12) students who sat for the mathematics examination on Tuesday shared varied sentiments regarding the question paper. Many found it to be moderately difficult, tricky, and somewhat lengthy. In Lucknow, students noted that while the multiple-choice questions posed a bit of a challenge, Section C appeared relatively easier. They observed that Section A covered the entire syllabus and was based on the specimen paper provided by the council.

Kashvi Pandey, a Class 12 student of La Martiniere Girls College, remarked, “The paper primarily tested application-based skills. Despite initial apprehensions, we managed to give our best, thanks to our thorough preparation during pre-board exams.”

Echoing similar sentiments, Vaidehi Baranwal from LMGC stated, “The paper extensively focused on higher-order thinking and practical application of formulae. Although it was lengthy and some questions were tricky, the overall standard of the ISC exam was upheld. However, managing time during the objective questions proved challenging.”

Chhavi, a student from City Montessori School, Station Road branch, commented, “The paper demanded in-depth knowledge for solving certain graphical multiple-choice questions. It encompassed a wide array of mathematical concepts at a moderate difficulty level, ensuring a fair and comprehensive assessment.”

Dev Chaturvedi, another student from the same school, opined, “The paper evaluated fundamental concepts without excessive complexity, maintaining a medium difficulty level. However, some statements were overly intricate.”

Anshika Gupta added, “The paper ranged from moderate to difficult. While 1-mark questions were application-based, solving them often depended on understanding concepts tested in 4-mark questions from previous years.”

Pranam Goyal remarked, “The paper was of moderate difficulty, featuring application-based questions that tested in-depth knowledge. Although some questions were lengthy, a thoughtful approach and problem-solving skills were crucial.”

Piyush Tripathi noted, “This year’s paper differed significantly from previous years, emphasizing application-based questions that posed a challenge. Overall, it required a thorough understanding of the subject.”

Shaurya Jaiswal emphasized, “The paper demanded the application of in-depth knowledge and included several case studies that required careful analysis. Although lengthy, it was manageable and maintained a moderate difficulty level.”

Srishti Singh highlighted, “The questions were twisted and indirect, utilizing somewhat deceptive language. The shift towards application-based questions was new for students, requiring adaptation.”

Tanishka Sharma from St Joseph College remarked, “Overall, the ISC mathematics paper was moderately difficult but slightly lengthy. While the MCQs were conceptual and concise, other sections were more calculation-intensive.”

Aarav Shukla of St Joseph College commented, “Compared to previous years, the paper was more challenging, featuring 22 questions across three sections. Section C was relatively easier, and all questions were within the prescribed syllabus.”

Vasu, a student of City Montessori School, LDA branch, noted, “There were a few tricky questions,” while another student, Varnit, found the paper to be balanced in difficulty. Jay suggested that better time management was essential for tackling the paper effectively.

Vineeta Kamran, the principal, commended the efforts of teachers in preparing students. Overall, students found the paper to be moderate, with some expecting full marks. However, the probability question posed a challenge, and while lengthy, most students managed to complete the paper on time, according to Tanmay Pandey and Anant Anand of Class XII at CMS RDSO Campus.

Students of Strawberry Fields High School in Sector 26, Chandigarh, expressed satisfaction with the mathematics exam, stating that it met their expectations. Vithal noted that while the exam wasn’t overly difficult, the questions tested their understanding and application of concepts, making it slightly lengthy. Sashit Sapra added that the exam was well-balanced, covering all topics almost equally, according to students from Chandigarh.
