The National Testing Agency (NTA), the organization responsible for conducting the exam, is expected to unveil the NEET 2024 application form, information brochure, and notification in January 2024. The scheduled date for the NEET 2024 exam is May 5, 2024.

The latest information on NEET 2024 registration suggests that the application forms may be made available in the third or fourth week of January 2024. However, due to the absence of an official confirmation, students are advised to remain prepared to complete the NEET 2024 form promptly.

As of now, apart from the NEET 2024 exam date, no other important dates have been officially announced. The tentative timeline for the NEET 2024 exam is detailed in the table below.

NEET UG 2024 Registration: Uneditable fields in NEET Application Form

The following fields cannot be edited in the NEET application form once submitted:

  • Mobile number
  • Email address
  • Candidate name (for Aadhaar-verified candidates)
  • Date of birth
  • Gender
  • Permanent and present address

Which Details can I Edit through the NEET Application Correction Window?

Candidates may not be able to edit each detail entered in the application form but the list of editable fields are:

  • Candidate category and sub-category
  • Choice of exam city and medium
  • Qualification and passing year
  • Parent’s name (either father or mother’s name can be changed)

How to Fill NEET 2024 Application Form?

Here is a step-by-step process on how to fill out the NEET 2024 application form:

  • Go to the official NEET website at neet.nta.nic.in.
  • Look for the “New Registration” or “Apply Online” link on the website.
  • Click on it to begin the registration process.
  • Provide the required details, including personal information like name, date of birth, email address, and mobile number.
  • Upon successful registration, you will be assigned a unique application number. Note it down for future reference.
  • Log in using your application number and password.
  • Fill in the NEET 2024 application form with accurate personal, academic, and contact details.
  • Carefully enter details such as your name, parents’ names, address, educational qualifications, etc.
  • Upload scanned copies of your photograph and signature in the prescribed format and size.
  • Pay the application fee through the available online payment options (credit/debit card, net banking, UPI, etc.).
  • After successful payment, download and print the confirmation page for your records.
  • Check if there is a correction window provided by NTA. If there are any errors in your application, utilize this window to make corrections.
  • Once the application process is complete, await the release of the NEET 2024 admit card on the official website.
  • Download and print your admit card for the examination.
  • Familiarize yourself with the examination venue and guidelines mentioned on the admit card.
  • Carry the necessary documents, including the admit card and a valid photo ID, on the exam day.

Category Certificates Required for NEET 2024 Application Form

Candidates belonging to the reserved category or a particular category will have to upload the requisite category certificate. The list of applicable certificates is given below:

  • GEN-EWS certificate which should have been issued on or after April 1, 2023, in consonance with the latest guidelines of the Government of India.
  • OBC-NCL certificate which should have been issued on or after April 1, 2023, in consonance with the latest guidelines of the Government of India.
  • Caste (for SC) or Tribe (for ST) certificate in consonance with the latest guidelines of the Government of India. If any SC/ST candidate fails to upload the SC/ST certificate at the time of online registration.
  • PwBD certificate stating the percentage of disability of the candidate.

In case candidates lack the requisite certificate issued on or after the date mentioned above, they will have to download and fill out the Declaration by Candidates instead of the category certificate from the NEET 2024 information brochure.

List of Documents Required for Candidates Outside India

Candidates who are NRI or OCI have to upload the following documents:

  • A scanned copy of the first and last page of the Passport wherein the Citizenship /Nationality of the Candidate, as well as the date of issue, Validity Period, place of issue, and Issuing Authority of the Passport, are mentioned.

Or

  • Citizenship Certificate issued by the Competent Authority in the Country of Nationality of the Candidate, wherein the Citizenship/Nationality of the Candidate, date of issue, Validity Period, place of issue, and Issuing Authority, are mentioned.

Or

  • Any other Document issued by a Government Authority in the Country of Nationality of the Candidate (including OCI Card issued by the MHA or concerned Indian Diplomatic Mission in case of OCT Candidate only), wherein the Citizenship /Nationality of the Candidate, date of issue, Validity Period, place of issue and Issuing Authority of the Document, are mentioned.

Guidelines for Uploading Thumb Impression at NEET 2024 Application Form

The guidelines for uploading the left-hand thumb impression are as follows:

  • The candidate should put Left and Right-hand Fingers and Thumb impressions as per the Template provided.
  • The thumb impressions should be legible.
  • The file size has to be between 10 KB to 200 KB.
  • Unclear Left and Right-hand fingers and thumb Impressions in Online Application Forms will also be rejected.

Guidelines Regarding Uploading Signature at NEET 2024 Application Form

The guidelines for uploading signatures on the NEET 2024 application form are as follows:

  • The scanned signature should be between 4 KB to 30 KB.
  • The file format should be JPG only.
  • The signature should be made on black ballpoint pen on white paper.
  • The signature should be made in running letters and not in full capital letters.
  • In case someone else’s signature has been uploaded, the candidature shall be cancelled and the case will be considered an Unfair Means Case. Criminal action as per the laws of the land shall also be initiated.

Guidelines to Upload Photographs in NEET 2024 Application Form

The guidelines regarding uploading photographs at the NEET 2024 application form are as follows:

  • The photograph should not be less than three months old.
  • The photograph should be either in color or black and white with 80 percent face (without mask) visible including ears against a white background.
  • The size of the scanned passport photograph should be between 10 KB to 200 KB (clearly legible).
  • The size of the scanned Postcard photograph (4” x 6”) should be between 10 KB – 200 KB (clearly legible).
  • The file format should be JPG or JPEG.
